Well done Swimbridge! ... another fantastic success
The 7th Swimbridge Fun Run, sponsored by Davison’s Chartered
Accountants and Business Advisers, provided another challenging scenic route for the 168 runners that took part in the 10k and 3k runs on Sunday 17th May. This year the event was affiliated to ARC through the North Devon Road Runners. The runners had a fantastic run. Swimbridge is surrounded by hills providing us with a challenging and interesting course that takes our runners through fields, woodlands, stiles, bridges and picturesque hamlets. We have received some amazing feedback, and even though the course is tough runners have expressed that they want more of it. This event started from the Glebe Field which enables our spectators to have a better view.
The winner of the 3k was Euan Kernahan of North Devon Athletics Club who ran it in 11:31 minutes. The 1st female 3k runner was Eevee-May Banbury of North Devon Athletics Club who ran it in 13:10. Eevee was the 1st female last year.

Swimbridge Run is a community event which the people of Swimbridge give amazing support. 80 volunteers from the village volunteer their time, 50 of which steward the route. Thank you to our sponsors, particularly Davisons Chartered Accountants. It is because of all our sponsors that we are able to make this run a profitable and fun event which is now on firmly on the running calendar. Thank you to our sponsors and volunteers —you make it happen. A special thank you to Georgia Everett Brown who supported one of our younger members on the 3k. The event is expected to raise almost £2,000 in aid of Swimbridge Jubilee Hall, registered charity no 300983.
