February 2015Swimbridge Jubilee Hall reopened on 16th January Yippee!
![]() Following a blessing by Father Shaun O’Rouke and words of thanks to the Big Lottery, other funders and the hard working project teams the hall was re-opened by John Bartlett. The hall originally built in 1938 for just over £1,000 has now been extended and completely updated ready for new generations of users. This work has cost over £600,000. Our youngest generation from the school were the first to enjoy the hall after a break of nearly ten months. It is now a fantastic venue for community events. It is now also a great wedding and party venue. Three weddings are already booked.
The NEW hall is now open and available for hire. The main hall can be hired or as little as £25 for two hours. This includes use of the main hall, the green room which provides a cloakroom facility, a full commercial kitchen and toilets. The meeting room, which is perfect for meetings, yoga, flower arranging, history groups, art and craft sessions, has cat 5 wiring for computer use and much more can be hired for as little as £15 for a two hour session. The meeting room also has tea/coffee making facilities and toilets. Wi-fi will be connected by the end of the January. If you would like to have a look or are interested in hiring the space, contact the booking clerk. Currently there is daytime and evening availability although bookings are taking off now that people have been inside and seen what a fantastic space and facility it now is. New groups can advertise for FREE in the monthly village newsletter, just phone 01271 830311 or email julie@theyews.org.uk. |
